A little over a month after revealing the first Avengers: Endgame teaser trailer, Disney has released the full look at the long-awaited finale in this chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, now that Captain Marvel has been introduced to the world in her own title movie, they can reveal her role in Avengers: Endgame.Near the end of the trailer, we see Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers meeting Chris Hemsworth’s Thor for the first time. He holds out his hand for his new hammer Stormbreaker, which lands in his grip. Captain Marvel doesn’t even flinch—all she shows is the hint of a grin.”I like this one,” Thor says.
It’s a great moment, and considering her dynamic with Nick Fury in Captain Marvel, this teases some fun interactions with the rest of the Avengers. But, before the Thor and Captain Marvel scene, we get a better look at what kind of story we’ll get in Avengers: Endgame. Most of the trailer is dedicated to showing how far the Avengers have come since before Thanos’s snap, beginning with Tony Stark escaping from a terrorist cave. He once again appears to be recording a message for Pepper Potts, like we saw in the first trailer. We hear voiceovers of some of the heroes coming to terms with The Dusting.
“Even if there’s a small chance, we owe this to everyone who’s not in this room to try,” says Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. Then Chris Evans’s Captain America responds, “We’ll do, whatever it takes.”From what we can gather from this new trailer, it seems like a good amount of time has passed between The Dusting and when the remaining Avengers are getting back into the fight. Near the end of the trailer we do see them all suited up and ready to save the universe.
