Prophets must stop doomsday prophecies – Opuni-Frimpong

He said the annual pronouncements of the death of national leaders has not been beneficial.

He stated that the country must protect the healthy relationship between the church and public officials.

His comments come at the back of the leader and Founder of Glorious Word Ministry Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah who prophesied that former Presidents John Mahama and John Agyekum Kufuor as well as current Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will die this year if the country do not pray to avert the deaths.

He said a paramount King will lose his life this year, 2019.

“Listen to me, there are Kings and there are Kings. A paramount chief will kick the bucket. Do not despise this prophecy too, this prophecy is dangerous and when it happens, everyone will remember today,” he said.

Owusu Bempah speaking at the watch night service of the final day of the year 2018, he predicted the death of former President John Agyekum Kufuor and his wife, John Mahama.

He stated that if Ghanaians don’t endeavour to pray, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia might lose his life in 2019, Chief Imam Sheikh Usmanu Nuhu Sharubutu.

Reacting to the prophecies, Opuni said “I have not heard churches/pastors from South Korea, France, Germany, UK, Canada, U.S.A., etc., frequently predicting or discussing the death of their leaders, be it in the political, religious, traditional, or entertainment [front] etc. in public, in the name of prophecy.”

He also urged the media to blacklist such pastors and avoid publications based on such prophecies.

“Maybe, this is the time the media must stop providing Oxygen to the death predictions for public decency and maturity of religious practices to thrive,” he added.
