Poor performance in crucial match
Liverpool fans have slammed defender Dejan Lovren this evening after his poor performance against Manchester City at the Etihad.
Jurgen Klopp’s reds travelled to the Etihad in hope of tightening their grip on the Premier League title.
Following a disappointing month or so for Manchester City, Liverpool had extended their lead at the top to six points, seven ahead of Guardiola’s side.
Man City lost games to both Chelsea and Crystal Palace and have looked out of sorts even in the games they have won.
Meanwhile, Liverpool continued to dominate everyone in the Premier League.
They won every single game in the month of December, seven games in total with some big games thrown in there too.
Wins over Manchester United and Arsenal were the most impressive as they went from strength to strength.
Though, form goes out of the window in certain games and tonight against Manchester City was one of them.

Man City come out on top
That is because, despite their recent performances, Man City impressed this evening.
Guardiola’s side looked to play Liverpool at their own game, pressing hard and high up the pitch and looking to attack fast.
That made for some brilliant viewing early on but no clear-cut chances were carved out and when one was, it wasn’t City’s chance.
Mohamed Salah slipped Sadio Mane in and his shot off the post was nearly turned into his own net by Ederson in extremely dramatic fashion.

Sergio Aguero then gave City the lead before Roberto Firmino levelled it up.
Leroy Sane then scored the winning goal to give Guardiola’s side a vital three points and three points they thoroughly deserved.
One player who impressed immensely was Fernandinho, who bossed the game from the first minute to the last.
Though, down the other end of the pitch, there was a performance to forget from Dejan Lovren.
Liverpool fans furious after Lovren performance
Six months after claiming he is one of the best defenders in the world, Lovren showed everyone exactly why he isn’t one.
The Croatian looked vulnerable at many times through the game and that didn’t go unnoticed, especially for Aguero’s goal.
Safe to say, Liverpool fans were not happy with him in the slightest.
Some were even calling for him to be sold.
I don’t ever want to see Lovren again to be honest. Don’t care how much we have to spend, get rid. Not even playing with Van Dijk can stop him from acting like a colossal moron.

Dejan Lovren easily could’ve cost us 4/5 goals in that match from stupid mistakes. Too often trying to play offside, the man needs to leave.

Klopp got his midfield selection wrong and Lovren was very poor but no excuses. City were better on the day. A 4 point lead with 17 games to go and just 3 against top 6 opposition is a fucking wonderful position to be in. Heads up Reds #lfc

Lovren is literally a Burnley quality CB.

Lovren can absolutely die. Hope we bully him off Instagram game again the cunt.

Lovren should be banned from interviews.

I do not like Dejan Lovren.
The last time I disliked a #LFC player this hard was Albert Riera. But that was mostly because he looked like the Spanish Quagmire from Family Guy.
